Rebel Alliance gets a Corellian Corvette, a few starfighters, a handful of troops and the game's like "good luck, buddy!". Empire starts with multiple Star Destroyers, legions of storm troopers and TIEs, and the Death Star (boardgame starts at the beginning of A New Hope). It very sincerely feels like the conflict portrayed on the movies. I think the tabletop version does a better job of modelling the massive force disparities between these two factions as well as streamlining it in a way where two people can sit down and play it in a 2-3 hour session. If you've not played the boardgame version of this that came out in 2016, you really need to play it - it is amazing. The dialogue writing and acting doesn't make me want to drive my head through a wall like the prequels do. I make it sound really dumb, but it was a whole lot more watchable than the prequels. Did these people not watch Star Wars? Was Han Solo, General of the Rebellion not a spice runner before he joined up? Buncha assholes. Then she gets palpatine to kill himself by reflecting force lightning.Īnd they gave my boy Poe shit for being a spice runner before he joined up. Instead, Rey focuses, and she hears the voices of "all the jedi" which of course includes garbage characters like "qui-gon" "prequel obi-wan" and others. Palpatine reveals that Rey is actually his granddaughter, and that they have a Sith succession that transfers the spirits of all of the Sith into the person that kills the current Sith. Kylo gets one and the Rebels get one, and they all have a big battle over sith planet. Everyone runs around trying to find the sith tracking device that will let you navigate to the sith homeworld. He hid on the hidden "Sith Homeworld" and used the Sith to build a fleet of ships that look exactly like Star Destroyers, but instead of the hangar bay they all have planet destroying superlasers somehow. Palpatine came back, somehow surviving being chucked into a reactor shaft and exploding, then being smuggled off the Death Star before it exploded.
